Donate to Lurie Children’s Hospital
One of the ways Colleen Cares Organization hopes to celebrate Colleen’s legacy is by creating a permanent tribute to her at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. Colleen’s life was saved here several times, including two heart transplants. In gratitude, our primary focus is to raise funds for the Lurie Children’s Heart Center. Support for this Fund enables care for patients with the most complex and serious heart conditions from before birth through adulthood. Donations to the Lurie Children’s Heart Center directly support research, training the next generation of doctors through Fellowships, and patient clinical care. This support helps explore the causes of heart disease, perfect new interventions to provide better treatment options, and develop innovative strategies to protect against cognitive and psychosocial impairments. We are grateful for your consideration of this fund.
With this in mind, our current fundraising goal is to have a Window of Hope dedicated in Colleen’s name. This Window will be located in the Lurie Children’s Patient Care Room overlooking the Tiffany & Co. on Michigan Ave, where Colleen spent many months. A plaque honoring Colleen will be installed next to “her” window. Contributions are being collected now and at Colleen's Celebration of Life. Give now, give later, or both!
